Every young person deserves to feel confident, celebrated, and proud on one of the most memorable nights of their high school experience. Prom is a milestone, but for many families, the cost of dresses, suits, shoes, and accessories can make attending feel out of reach.
That’s why Modern Mentor Inc., in collaboration with CM Creative Experience, created the “It’s My Night” Prom Dress & Suit Drive — a community-powered initiative dedicated to ensuring that no young person misses their prom because of financial hardship.
This annual event has become one of our most impactful community programs, bringing together volunteers, donors, and local organizations to uplift youth and celebrate an important moment in their lives.
Our Mission
The mission of “It’s My Night” is simple but powerful: to ensure that every young person can experience prom with dignity, confidence, and joy regardless of financial circumstances.
We believe that prom should be a celebration of hard work, growth, and the transition into adulthood. By removing financial barriers, we help students show up to this milestone feeling proud, confident, and supported by their community.
Our Purpose
The “It’s My Night” Prom Dress & Suit Drive collects and distributes free prom attire and essentials to high school students across our community. Students can choose from a wide selection of donated items, including: Prom dresses, Suits and tuxedos, Shoes, Accessories, Dress shirts, Ties and bow ties, Socks, Hygiene and self-care products. But this event is about more than clothing.
We intentionally create an uplifting and welcoming environment where young people feel seen, valued, and celebrated. Volunteers help students browse, try on items, and find the perfect look for their special night, making the experience feel like a boutique rather than a donation drive.
Our goal is to ensure that every student walks away not only with prom attire but also with confidence and excitement for their big night.
Our Impact
Since launching the initiative in 2023, the “It’s My Night” Prom Drive has served over 750 high school students, helping them find the perfect prom outfit.
What began as a community effort has grown into a movement fueled by generosity, collaboration, and a shared commitment to supporting youth.
Through this initiative, we have: Provided prom attire to hundreds of students across the Boston area; distributed dresses, suits, accessories, and essential items at no cost; Engaged community members, volunteers, and local businesses in giving back; and helped remove financial barriers that prevent students from attending prom.
By removing these barriers, we give young people the gift of self-esteem, inclusion, and a moment they will remember for the rest of their lives.
