Modern Mentor Inc. is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, respectful, and empowering environment for all participants, families, staff, mentors, volunteers, and community partners.

1. Non-Discrimination Policy

Modern Mentor Inc. does not discriminate based on:

This policy applies to all programs, activities, hiring practices, partnerships, and organizational operations.

2. Commitment to Inclusion

We intentionally serve and uplift girls and young women from historically underserved communities. Our programs are designed to foster equity, leadership, cultural pride, and opportunity while honoring each participant’s lived experience and identity.

3. Safeguarding & Youth Protection

The safety and well-being of youth participants are a top priority at Modern Mentor Inc.

We are committed to:

  • Providing a physically and emotionally safe environment

  • Maintaining appropriate boundaries between youth and adults

  • Ensuring respectful, age-appropriate interactions

  • Preventing abuse, neglect, exploitation, or harassment

All staff, mentors, and volunteers are expected to uphold our safeguarding standards and code of conduct.

4. Background Checks & Training

Modern Mentor Inc. conducts appropriate screening, onboarding, and training for staff, mentors, and volunteers who work directly with youth, including:

  • Background checks were applicable

  • Safeguarding and youth development training

  • Ongoing supervision and accountability

5. Reporting Concerns

Any concerns related to:

  • Safety

  • Discrimination

  • Harassment

  • Boundary violations

  • Abuse or misconduct

must be reported immediately to Modern Mentor Inc. leadership. Reports will be taken seriously, handled confidentially, and addressed promptly.

Modern Mentor Inc. will comply with all mandatory reporting laws and cooperate fully with appropriate authorities when required.

6. Zero Tolerance

Modern Mentor Inc. maintains a zero-tolerance policy for abuse, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or any other form of misconduct. Violations of this policy may result in immediate removal from programs, termination of involvement, and, when necessary, legal action.

7. Policy Review

This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure compliance with best practices, legal requirements, and our organizational values.
